Summer of 2017, Trump decided to hold a rally. Even though I worked in Tucson, KGUN sent three crews up to Phoenix to see the moment.

The moment we got there, it was go go go. With protests outside the rally and the Trump supporters screaming at the media. Honestly, it felt weird. One minute Trump said the cameras weren’t going live when we were.

Jennifer Martinez and I stayed inside the rally to get footage of the speech. After the rally finished, we ran outside because the protests got intense.

I love this live shot. I think it was the last to second live shot of the night. We couldn’t plan it. We went with the flow and Jenny did a good job explaining the situations. I learned a lot that night. Even if it was one of the weirdest political events I’ve covered.
